About
Tarryn Blake
I am a compassionate, dynamic and enthusiastic person who endeavours to assist others in need. I am a registered Educational Psychologist with the Health Professions Council of South Africa.
Once I completed my undergraduate Bachelor of Arts, I furthered my studies by completing the Post Graduate Certificate in Education, then moved on to complete my Psychology Honours degree, Cum Laude. I was eager to travel and gain work experience, so I went to the UK to do a brief stint of relief teaching. Upon returning to South Africa, I took up a permanent post teaching High School Geography and Life Orientation.
In 2013, I returned to University to enrol as a full time student in pursuit of a Psychology Masters Degree. I was eager to pursue a career in Psychology because during my teaching and work experience, I became increasingly aware of children's barriers to learning. I was eager to see how I could assist more children to cope better with their emotional, behavioural, social or academic challenges.
Upon completing my first year of Masters, I moved on to do my Educational Psychology Internship year. This proved to be a very challenging, yet rewarding year, where I gained a wealth of knowledge and experience. Upon completion of this year, and successful graduation, Cum Laude, I passed the National Board Examination and officially became fully qualified to practice as an Independent Educational Psychologist.
I have thoroughly enjoyed gaining experience as each year goes by, and I endeavour to provide excellent service to my clients each and every day.
